The Green Mountain Audubon Center is happy to host Nature & Forest Therapy Guide Duncan Murdoch for a special program for our First Responders and Service Professionals.
You give enormously of yourselves and deserve the restorative power of mindfulness in nature. Too often you are navigating stress and burnout. This program is intended to reach the trained professionals– either paid or volunteer– who serve our communities as:
- Healthcare workers
- Emergency responders
- Search & Rescue Personnel
- Veterans, Coast Guard & National Guard
- EMTs, Paramedics & Crisis Counselors
“Forest Bathing, also known as forest therapy (shinrin-yoku), is a research-based framework for supporting healing and wellness through immersion in forests and other natural environments. Forest Therapy is inspired by the Japanese practice of Shinrin-Yoku, which translates to “forest bathing.” Studies have demonstrated a wide array of health benefits, especially in the cardiovascular and immune systems, and for stabilizing and improving mood and cognition.”- Duncan Murdoch
Special thanks to the Mindful of Nature Network for their support in helping us offer intentional programs for members of our community. With their support we are able to fully cover the cost of the program guide, reducing the price from $35 per person to a small donation to the Audubon Center to confirm your attendance.
