Honor and celebrate Summer Solstice and take in all the light that this special day has to offer. Certified Nature & Forest Therapy Guide creates space for you to develop a deeper relationship to the natural world and your inner nature. Walks touch on the traditional 5 senses and beyond, are leisurely and slow and less than 1 mile. There is ample time for private communion with the forest and also to speak and reflect on your experience with the group. A wildcrafted tea will be served.
Shinrin-yoku is a term that means “taking in the forest atmosphere” or “forest bathing.” It was developed in Japan during the 1980s and has become a cornerstone of preventive health care and healing in Japanese medicine. Researchers primarily in Japan and South Korea have established a robust body of scientific literature on the health benefits of spending time under the canopy of a living forest. Now their research is helping to establish shinrin-yoku and forest therapy in the United States and throughout the world.
Directions: Go past Burlington High school and then make a right through the gates of Rock Point School. Go past the first main building and there’s a parking lot on the right across from the next building, the Diocesan Center.
